Outreach

The dissemination of the research published in the Pacific Economic Bulletin is carried out through a series of seminars and updates in Australia and in the Pacific region. The coverage of Pacific countries is determined by the surveys published, and a series of updates on those countries surveyed is held in two Australian cities and in the country being surveyed, normally in the main city and in a more rural area. Around 20 major events are presented each year including
  • high-level policy discussions through the executive seminar programs held both in Australia and in Pacific island countries
  • community outreach through the update programs held in Australia in a range of locations and in the Pacific island countries.
  • web pages are provided in the run-up to update programs—showing programs, speakers—and in the follow-up period showing presentations, additional papers, media coverage and comments. Online discussion is encouraged as a supplement to the update discussion.

'I often follow this publication because the views of the region are real. Keep up the good work.'
- Mali Voi, Cultural Adviser, UNESCO, Samoa community update 2007
